The Prime Minister Head of Government has left the North West region after spending four days for what has been described as a peace mission. Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute's convoy drove out of the region in the early hours of Friday 8 October 2021 peacefully unlike his arrival that was greeted by gunshots.

"I leave Bamenda with a great deal of optimism, knowing that on the next weeks or months the situation will change dramatically" he said

In his evaluation of the situation in the region ahead of his departure, the head of government admits that there are still issues to worry about but hopes his mission can pave the way for peace.
"Some parts of the region are getting stabilized and some others are still in difficulty, but I think we have talked to all key actors and given them the courage to put in place mechanisms, talking to our misguided youths and see how many of them can abandon the guns and get back into society" Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute said

Received by many on his way in and accompany by many during his public event at the commercial avenue grandstand and his audiences despite lockdown and boycott calls, the PM says the hospitality was wonderful.
"I want to thank the people of the Northwest region for their wonderful hospitality throughout our stay, this past four days in Bamenda. The welcome was very enthusiastic, there is a genuine cry for Peace in this region." He said
