Nkwen District Hospital refurbished, introduces ramps for PWDs

By Burinyuy A. The Nkwen District Hospital (formerly PMI) has been refurbished. The refurbishment according to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors o the health facility follows the recent upgrading of the facility to a district hospital. According to Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe, the board chair, paying attention to the inclusive nature of the facility during the refurbishment was important.  The major innovation during the refurbishment was the construction of ramps to improve access to the hospital’s services by persons with disabilities (PWDs).  “The Bamenda III Council is an inclusive council and as far as the Nkwen District Hospital is concerned, we already took a board decision that people living with disability who can proof their condition, their bills are cut down by 50%... Nkwen Development Association UK donates To Village Rural Health Center

By Bakah Derick in Nkwen The Nkwen Cultural and Development Association (NCDA), United Kingdom chapter, has donated hospital items to the Nkwen Rural Integrated Health Center. The items were handed on Friday 13 October 2023.  Donated Items displayed in front of the Health Center  Speaking on behalf of the donor association during the handing over event at the Nkwen Rural Integrated Health Center, Muma Azehfor III, disclosed that the items were made up of beds, matrasses and baby cots. He further detailed that during the need assessment visit to the rural health center, the challenge presented was that of baby cots but NCDA UK decided to do more   “It is hoped that these items will improve the quality of care delivered to this community. Health: Regional Hospital Annex- Nkambe completes first major surgery

By Richard Tamjong in Nkambe The Nkambe Regional hospital Annex has performed the first major surgery by specialists , a surgeon and an anaesthetist  today since the creation of the hospital in 1956. The director of The hospital Dr Moye Divine Justice has described the surgery as a major achievement by the ministry of public health and the government in the realization of specialized health services to the population of the division and it's environs after the transformation of the district hospital to a Regional Hospital Annex on the 20th of  February 2023.  The major surgery was performed for the first time by a team including two experts , an anesthetist an the leader of the team expert surgeon Dr Nkumbe Elvis. WMHD 2023: CAGEAD commemorate in rural Boyo

The Center for Advocacy in Gender Equality and Action for Development (CAGEAD) has commemorated World Menstrual Hygiene Day in rural communities in Boyo Division NW Region. The information filtered out from the 10th Scientific Conference of the Association that held in Bamenda recently under the theme: "Invest in the Nursing Profession." A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Ministry of Health and the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) Health Services for the transfer of a Data Manager (DAMA) to the Ministry.  The ceremony on January 20, 2023, at the Ministry of Health saw the Minister of Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie signing for the Ministry of Health and the Director of CBC Health Services Professor Tih Pius Muffih signing for the CBCHS. DAMA is an electronic version of standard national facility registers and reporting tools developed by the CBC Health Services with support from the #CDC.   DAMA manages data "real-time" for People Living with HIV in Cameroon, a great contribution from #CDC. Making strides in a hostile environment is what has continued to gain the admiration of the CBC Health Services by the Press in Cameroon. Ear Surgery: CBC Health Services acquires, dedicates equipment for use

By Bakah Derick  The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) has acquired a new equipment for ear surgery and cochlear implantation. Disability and Inclusion:Nkwen District Hospital offers Persons living with disabilities 50% exoneration health bills.

This follows a press release signed recently by Dr Ngum Joel, director of Nkwen District Hospital and Fonguh Cletus Tanwe, Mayor of Bamenda III Council who is also the chairman of the management of the aforementioned health facility.
