FECAFOOT Elections: Chi Ivo throws hat in the ring for NW

By Bakah Derick

The Founder and Promoter of Grassland FC Nkwen  has officially filed in his candidacy for the post of President of the North West Regional league of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT).

He confirmed to hilltopvoices.com on monday night that after stepping back from the national race endorsing Samuel Eto'o Fils, he has elected to present himself as presidential candidate for the North West league.
An international football manager, player agent, coach, club promoter and jurist, Chi Ivo believes that North West football needs to be professional with the actors and their families being able to feed from the beautiful game.

The permanently on the move football guru, has been endorsed by several clubs presidents who see him as hope for the regions next football agenda.

He appreciates the little the past executives of the federation have done but believes it is time for young men and women who have chosen football as a career to get the type of exposure their peers elsewhere in the world have. Clubs in the region he says have the right to be better should they become professionalised and this is his mission.

"Our region has amazing talents. The players, coaches and so on but we have failed to harness this to the standards that can contribute to raising our living standards. With my experience in the football business and with Samuel Eto'o as the National President our children and other related football actors in the region shall make us proud through this profession." He told Hilltopvoices.

Now co-owner of Kufstein football club  in Austria, Chi Ivo said recently that his decision as a player agent to go for the club was to facilitate the integration of young talented footballers into professional football away from home. Should these players succeed like the many he has assisted from across the world, the presidential aspirant says clubs will certainly benefit and that will make North West Football better than what it is.

"It is not all easy but it is real. We can have our children in big places. Fai  Collins is from Bamenda and any other child can be like him. When we were trying to have him move out of the region we knew he will be a star. There are many other talented young men we have moved and can move but we need the right environment. The stadium; yes but let's be professional even with the little we have and we will certainly go places." Chi Ivo said
The regional league accepted candidacies for the November elections till Monday October 11, 2021. Filing this Monday makes Chi Ivo the second candidate for the top job with the incumbent fully in place.

George Neba one of the candidates who announced his candidature on the media before we have learned has finally filed for the post of vice President.
