FECAFOOT Elections: North West delegates suffering threats over election choices

By Bakah Derick

North West Delegates to the 2021 elective general assembly of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) are said to be under serious threats.
Hilltopvoices has gathered that messages and pictures are currently circulating on social media messaging applications suggesting that North West delegates moved away from positions they were expected to stay unto.

While others are accusing the delegates for voting Samuel Eto'o the winner of the elections, others say they voted Seidou Mbombo Njoya.

Some of the messages Hilltopvoices has claim that the delegates from the North West received money to the tune of 1MFCFA from the the candidate they turned their backs to with a firm request for a refund.

On the eve of elections, Hilltopvoices must establish that the delagates could not be reached on phone. No justification of their unavailability has been made public but it is either their phones were jammed or collected. We cannot confirm who did.

We are gathering that top politicians who hitherto were friends and partners of some of the delegates from the North West are  breaking the alliances. While others are warning that the delegates should never call them again, others are promising though times.

Notes of the editor

Prior to elections, North West through their league President signed a document declaring support for Seidou Mbombo Njoya. Their candidate will later get 31 votes. The worry is why will someone be accusing North West delegates for voting against Seidou Mbombo Njoya in a single ballot when the concerned got 31 votes? Can anyone show proof of those who voted Seidou excluding North West delegates?

Why will someone accuse North West delegates for voting Eto'o? He got 41 votes. How can it be established that they voted Eto'o or not?

However, the neutral position of  North West delegates is telling of the integrity of Northwesterners. When the ballots were declared secret it means secret and every effort to campaign them on their side should be a campaign and not an oath.

At Hilltopvoices, we think that the delegates have a right to their choices and should be left in Peace for that...
