By Bakah Derick

The race for the president of the regional league of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is now settled.
Initially contested between Chi Ivo and Felix Mbigha, only one candidate is left following the withdrawal of the other.

In a letter hilltopvoices stumbled on during the closng hours of Wednesday October 20, 2021 addressed to the electoral commission of (FECAFOOT) with the subject "withdrawal of candidature", Chi Ivo indicated his withdraw from the race.

"I come before your very high benevolence to solicite the withdrawal of my candidature from the post of President for the North West regional league." Chi writes

No explanation has been given in the letter as to why the decision. Contacted via a messaging application, Chi Ivo has still not given a reason for his decision coming just a few days after the electoral commission punlished the list of aspirants for various regional league positions and delegates for the federal general assembly.

It is either the matter has been settled between both men who were not new to each other or the withdrawing candidate has been arm-twisted to pick back his hat from the ring.

Hilltopvoices had earlier suspected huge political influence from high places in the country on who becomes North West regional league President.

Regional elections are expected to take place first week of November 2021.
