Plan Japan follows up project implemented in Cameroon



Since 2011 Plan Cameroon with support from Daiichi Sankyo Ranbaxy a private company through Plan Japan started the implementation of a project called the mobile Clinic project in 12health districts in the East, Center and Northwest Regions of Cameroon. According to Plan Cameroon the project came to being in a bid to circumvent geographical access to health care, insufficient health care seeking behaviour and low household income.

This Wednesday November 20, 2013 Toyomassa Kaneda Senior Director for Daiichi Sankyo Ranbaxy and Kenta Soga officer charged with fundraising for plan Japan have come visiting with the intention to assess the level of implementation of the project they sponsor and to meet various stakeholders to discuss successes, challenges and the way forward.
As a major partner the Regional delegation of public health NW is the first stop of the guests and plan Cameroon officials. Nkwain Joseph focal contact person at the delegation receives the guests and in a brief exchange saluted the efforts of Plan in making healthcare more accessible to Cameroonians. He however indicated the need for motor cycles in order to improve the coverage.

At the Bafut Health District service Dr Ajabmoh Henry Njoteh district chief of service public health is highly elated to welcome the delegation as he accompanies them to the Akofuguba health center then the Mughie outreach post where the reception is grandiose.
The women sang to the top of their voices yet the remembrance of a searh for a health care facility in labour or when sick will make them cry.
In a note of welcome Akumboh Michael president of the Mughie Cultural and Development Association reminds Plan of their plight.He said " Country Director for Plan Cameroon, we are very grateful that you have come and seen the misery on the faces of these women and children gathered here. we lack the proper infrastructure to harbor the Out Reach Health Post and toilet facilities"

 At the Bafut Fons Palace the hounoured guests are treated to a hero’s welcome by the Paramount Fon of Bafut His Majesty Abumbih III with a lineup of royal dances and an uncommon guide round the palace.  
The reception to Toyomassa Kaneda is  satisfactory and to the Paramount Fon of Bafut Plan is always a special visitor

The Bafut palace event was also an opportunity to hand over certificates to some eight community health workers from Bafut, Mbengwi, Fundong and Ndop health districts who distinguished themselves in the support of the mobile clinic project. 
Plan Cameroon it should be recalled started working in Cameroon in 1996 and is present in six regions of the country.
