Opinion: Dr Nick Ngwanyam makes "prophetic" declarations for 2022

2022 by Dr Nick Ngwanyam, St Louis This shall be a special year in the history of Cameroon.  A lot shall change for the BETTER.  Dr Nick Ngwanyam  *The WAR shall END*.  West and East Cameroon shall be created. Two capital cities shall see the light of day  coming with the earth like mushrooms.  In West Cameroon between  BACHOU and Widikum. In East Cameroon at Ebebda along the River Sanaga. These areas shall be mapped out. Pieces of land shall be given out for next to NOTHING for people who are ready to build immediately  following some master plans. Remember that West Cameroon shall be decentralised into NW and SW Regions.  East Cameroon shall decentralise into 8 regions. The Presidency shall rotate between Anglophones and Francophones every 10 years. Governors and SDOs shall no longer be appointed but elected. ENAM SHALL BE CLOSED because they have been the source of bad governance which added to the marginalization, have engeneered the war.  The curriculum for training a

Major National Dialogue: Commentary; Startling Revelations on the PMs Peace Mission to Bamenda

By Gwain Colbert Media personality and author For the first time since the start of the conflict in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon, government has come out openly to confirm that it had been and continue to have talks, directly and indirectly, with all the separatist leaders at home and abroad. The revelation was made on the sidelines of the second lap of Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute's peace mission to Bamenda, August 5, 2021, and during an audience granted the journalists at Ayaba hotel. In response to numerous worries and questions from journalists living and working in Bamenda on why government could not just go ahead and dialogue with separatist leaders, rather than undertaking same of sameness consultative meetings in the regions, Felix Mbayu, Rapporteur General of the 2019 MND and secretary to the Resolutions Follow-up committee, was categorical government has since been doing all in its favour to get all movement leaders to the dialogue table and in the pro

Major National Dialogue: That attack on PM Dion Ngute: staged, political witch hunt or Separatists?

By Bakah Derick  On arrival in Matazem entrance to the North West Region on Tuesday 5 October 2021 at the start of a four day visit, gunshot sounds were heard from distant hills as Prime Minister Chief Dr Dion Ngute addressed a crowd.  Though coming from far surely not unexpected, panic was evident. Security dispositions were on high alert and the PM and others quickly given protection though there was no sign the Prime Minister's convoy was the target. No one dead, no injuries nor material damage. No one has claimed responsibility at the time of this report though non state armed groups operate in the area.  In the recent past, non state armed groups operating in the region have demonstrated unprecedented might in fire arms. With long range explosives, they killed 15 soldiers and distroyed two armored cars in Ngonketunjia Division. Other groups in that mission sustained a gun battle with reenforced military from other strategic locations  for hours till night fall. It

Opinion: The Colbert Factor; Edison Fru Ndi as modern Cameroon's one-size-feet-all and resilient entrepreneur

The Colbert Factor Edison Fru Ndi as modern Cameroon's one-size-feet-all and resilient entrepreneur This reflection is inspired by the fact that unlike other businesses and entrepreneurs who saw the population of Bamenda simply as consumers of their products and who were quick to escape from Bamenda when the conflict escalated, Edison Fru Ndi, being an illustrious son of the Region deemed that it was right and just to stay besides his people, under rain, under shine. It is the more informed by the morale in Wole Soyinka's 'The Swarm Dwellers', to the effect that it was of 'no earthly use changing one slough for another' as insecurity anywhere is insecurity everywhere and that grass is greenest where it is watered. It is also inspired by the fact that Edison's tenacity has not only given hope to many hopeless youths from the Region who, even if they wanted to leave the Region they wouldn't have had anywhere else to go, he had not only continue
