The 4th edition of the
National Artistic and Cultural season #RECAN for the year 2019
relaunched event has kicked off in Bamenda.
The official kickoff was done by NW governor Adolph Lele L'Afrique Tuesday October 8. The event shall run from October 8, 2019 to 12, 2019.

During the event period,
cultural stands of varied nature shall display, project and showcase produce of
the Northwest region for public appreciation and consumption.
They produce on displace
shall have to do with cinematography, theater, craft, aesthetics, embroidery,
beads work, gastronomy, music, fine arts, indigenous medicine, traditional
dances etc.
#RECAN2019 takes place
with the theme “Contribution of the arts and culture subsection in the constant
consolidation of unity, peace and harmonious living together for an emergent
Cameroon.”
RECAN NW comes in the midst of hostilities in the North West region as a result of an ongoing armed conflict generated by a group of persons advcating for the independence of the region from the Republic of Cameroon. RECAN thus Presupposes that people have been held hostage by the armed conflict and they want peace so as to prove what they are worth of.
