SOMDA Receives Donations to Support Needy Persons During Ramadan

Bamenda, March 18, 2022: SOMDA has received a significant donation of food items and non-food items to support orphans, internally displaced and underprivileged individuals during the holy month of Ramadan. 

The event, held at the residence of the Hausa Chief, Sarki in Old Town Bamenda
Present was Ezekiel Nji Chi, representative of the Senate Vice President. Describing the event as of absolute importance, Chi highlighted Senator Muchigle Vanegansen's continues support for SOMDA due to their essential role in caring for the needy.
The coordinator of SOMDA Shuibu Isyaka emphasized that the donations were a humanitarian gesture aimed at supporting those in need, regardless of political affiliations.
The 'Grand SOMDA Ramadan Help the needy Da'wah program targets 100 fasting needy individuals, 100 fasting IDPs, 170 needy orphans, and 2 widows.

City Mayor of Bamenda, Paul Achombong, who led an on-the-spot fundraiser for SOMDA has urged attendees to make giving to the needy a fundamental part of their lives.

Expressing gratitude to the donors, the leaders of SOMDA pledged to utilize the donations for the benefit of the recipients, ensuring that the contributions make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need. 
According to the Commissioner for Economy at the North West Regional Assembly Hon Awunti Ghejung,the event served as a reminder of the importance of compassion and support for vulnerable members of society, especially during times of religious significance like Ramadan.

As SOMDA continues its mission to provide assistance and care to displaced and underprivileged individuals, the generous donations received will undoubtedly make a positive difference in the lives of those they serve.

The event was graced by the presence of the region's newly appointed Secretary General, Sadi Ali Musa.
