The Mayor of the Bamenda III Council has presented the certificate of Proclamation of Friendship between his municipality and The City of Hays in the United States of America. Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe presented the certificate on Friday 31 March 2023 during the Administrative Account session of his council. According to him, this is a new friendship he believes can help his municipality in more ways than one.
"Whereas this first visit to Hays memorializes some commonalities of these two cities which include water sustainability, the grinding of coffee, the employment of a diversified workforce and a focus on high quality education and living standards as well as other developmental opportunities." Mayor of Hays City, the friendship proclamation, declares January 20, 2023, "Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe and the Country of Cameroon welcoming day" by the city commission of the City of Hays who hereby extends a hand welcoming future visits in Hays and and in Cameroon.
Councilors have congratulated Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe for his engagement in making the city better theought the creation of long friendships and execution of projects in the areas of infrastructure and livelihood.
The Mayor has expressed the wish to have everyone on board in the management of waste in his municipality which he admits is the cause of floods and other forms of health and environmental hazards.
