Save the Crown: Mankon Kwifo confirms disappearance of Fon, announce suspension of farming activities

By Bakah Derick  The traditional institution  vested with the powers to announce what is  tradtionally known as "the disappearance" of the Fon in the grasdfield of Cameroon has confirmed it will do so in the village of Mankon Mezam Division North West region in the coming days.  In an unusual outing via a statement on Wednesday 25 May 2022, the Kwifo of Mankon admitted that the Fon has joined his ancestors but promise to make an official announcement on Sunday 29 May 22 at the palace plaza. Safety and Security in NW Schools: Confessional and Private schools take lead with dress code challenges

By Bakah Derick  Schools in Bamenda have begun preparations for the 2021/2022 academic year with safety and security as a priority considering the current armed conflict in the region.            School fence of a school in Bamenda While a majority of confessional and Private schools are taking more visible measures, government institutions seem to be moving at snail pace.  In a visit to some schools in Bamenda, we could see restriction fences raised or being raised. The officials say they are contructing these fences to be able to control access to the school buildings.  "With the fence, we will be able to control access to the school building by locking the gates and monitoring the entrances during school hours." Cup of Cameroon 2021: PWD to face Avion in Quarter final

PWD of Bamenda will face Avion academy in one of the quarter final fixtures of the Cup of Cameroon. By Bakah Derick  One of Bamenda's fineness Live Performing artist #GulumaAKAGhettoPrince has released a new single titled Ghost Town.  Ghetto Prince photo credit Mirror Entertainement   Recorded by the Bamenda based international music label Bahood Records, Ghotto's ghost town song reflects on a phenomenon that has settled in Bamenda since the start of the Anglophone crisis now turned armed conflict.  The properly crafted piece of arts captures the ghost town concept from the announcement, how people spend the day and the impact.  Neither does he criticise nor promotes the idea, Ghetto Prince takes a neutral position but expresses the need for the armed conflict to be resolved via dialogue. 

Cameroon Armed Conflict: Traders caught between Gov't , separatist standoff in Ndop

By Nfor Nkfu Traders in Ndop, headquarters of Ngoketunja division of the North West region have been lamenting following the destruction of their market items by alleged government soldiers . In a viral amateur video that emerged Wednesday May 12th, armed men in military fatigue are seen scattering and destroying goods displayed near the road by traders. "No no no this is bad, this is dangerous. My things are all destroyed" a trader is overhead lamenting in the video. No reason was advanced at the seen for such an act. However, underground sources say, local authorities of Ndop carried out the act in a bid to force traders return to the market and continue doing business there. The source adds that Separatist Fighters in the area had sealed Ndop market three months ago warning bitterly against anyone who violate the other.
