The North West Regional Assembly recognises the station’s role in promoting transparency, public accountability and citizen engagement during the institution’s pioneer mandate.
The North West Regional Assembly has conferred an Excellence Award on NDEFCAM Radio in recognition of its consistent media coverage, accurate reporting and sustained contribution to public engagement throughout the Assembly’s pioneer mandate from 2020 to 2025.
The certificate, signed by the President of the North West Regional Executive Council, Professor Fru Angwafo III cites NDEFCAM Radio for providing valuable visibility to the mission, actions and programmes of the Regional Assembly at a time when public information and trust in institutions remain critical.
According to the citation, the radio station’s work helped promote transparency and strengthened the link between the Assembly and the population it serves.
“Your services contributed to the overall output of the Assembly and to regional development,” the certificate states.
Over the five year mandate, NDEFCAM Radio has regularly covered plenary sessions, budget debates, development initiatives and policy discussions of the Regional Assembly, making regional governance issues accessible to communities across the North West.
Officials of the Assembly say the award reflects an appreciation of the media’s role as a partner in decentralisation, particularly in informing citizens, amplifying local voices and fostering accountability in public service.
The recognition places NDEFCAM Radio among media institutions acknowledged for supporting the objectives of regional governance and for helping to build informed public participation in the North West Region.
