To ensure that communities are lighted and young people are getting skills to power their future in the crisis infested localities of the two Anglophone regions of Cameroon, Community Action for Advancing Sustainable Development, CAASDEV has set for itself the target to train 5000 young people with green skills in solar energy.
The non governmental organization made these intentions publicly known in Bamenda, Cameroon's North West Regional headquarter on Friday October 30, 2026 at the official launching of its projects, " Solar Bright Future E-STEM and solar powered digital learning," partnering with Schneider Electric Foundation and Orange Foundation Cameroun.
CAASDEV and partners envisage targeting youth from age bracket ranging between 18 and 35, intend to render training in designing, installation and maintenance. This, it is revealed, shall be done with particular focus on Internally Displaced Persons IDPs, prioritized at 80%, equally ensuring that at least 60% of beneficiaries are young women. This in a bid will to change the narrative of this male dominated trade.
