Meeting on Wednesday 5 November 2025 in Buea, members reflected on “raising awareness on gender-based violence against female journalists.” The session, chaired by Taryang Tabe, chapter Secretary for Training, featured a presentation from Eposi Noella, Vice President in charge of Gender, who highlighted the growing risks faced by female journalists, from online harassment to workplace intimidation.

She called on media institutions to establish safety mechanisms and promote genuine gender solidarity. Participants agreed that press freedom has no gender and that protecting journalists protects society.

Taryang Tabe closed the session thanking participants while praising the Chapter President Agbor Emile for his continued commitment to journalists’ welfare and safety.
