MRC takes 2027 Council, Parliamentary recruitment drive to Bui

The Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC) is taking its 2027 electoral mobilisation into the divisions of the North West Region, with Regional Coordinator Moritz Kube calling on potential candidates in Bui Division to step forward to contest council and parliamentary elections under the party's ticket.

The latest call by
Moritz Kube, which Hilltopvoices stumbled on online, specifically targets potential candidates from the six subdivisions of Bui Division: Kumbo, Jakiri, Mbiame, Nkum, Noni, Nkor and Oku.

"Did you make up your mind yet to run for council or parliamentary elections in Bui Division under the MRC ticket?" Kube asks in the recruitment message, inviting interested candidates to contact the North West Regional Coordination Office.

The Bui appeal comes shortly after the MRC unveiled its wider 2027 political ambition for the North West, announcing plans to contest all 34 council seats in the region and strengthen its parliamentary representation.

The latest mobilisation suggests that the strategy of the party is not limited to a broad political declaration. It is seeking to identify candidates on the ground, division by division, ahead of the elections.

Bui is one of the seven divisions of the North West Region, alongside Mezam, Momo, Menchum, Donga Mantung, Ngoketunjia and Boyo. The latest message therefore provides an indication of how the MRC could be seeking to translate its regional objective into a grassroots candidate recruitment drive across the entire region.

Moritz Kube had earlier confirmed to Hilltopvoices that the objective of  MRC is to secure all 34 council seats in the North West. The party has also presented itself as an alternative to the long-standing dominance of the CPDM and SDF in the electoral politics in the region.

The call for candidates in Bui now places the focus on the people who will carry that political ambition into individual constituencies and councils.

The challenge for the MRC will be to move from announcing an ambitious electoral target to building the organisation, candidate network and grassroots support required to compete across the region.

With the 2027 elections approaching, further calls for candidates in the other six divisions could provide a clearer picture of the scale of the planned electoral offensive in the North West by the MRC
