Malgré le contexte profondément marqué par la crise socio politique, les fans du foot étaient au rendez-vous.*

Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Malawi and Gambia, have caused an unprecedented upset during the competition that enters the eighth finals today.

Unlike Bertoua, Maroua and Ebolowa being other regional headquarters not hosting but organising fan zones and tournament villages, Bamenda is void of fervor.

After showering praises on their team for the brilliant performance that led to a qualification for the round of 16, the association described the results as fraudulent with the intention to cause the elimination of Comoros that is on the path to victory.

After both sides failed to score during the 30mins prolongation, The Stallions stood out during the 12yard shoot-outs and finished winner 7-6.

After winning all three group matches against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau, Nigeria was generally seen as favourite against a Tunisia side that qualified as best loaders and heavily affected COVID-19.

The Carthage eagles, 2004 champions with a record seven times quarter finals exit will thus take on the The Stallions with a  record last three straight quarter finals qualification.

Ranked 150th by the world's football governing body and least in the ongoing competition, the Gambia has become a lead revelation.  Historic!!!

Heavily affected by COVID-19 with not fewer than 12cases, The Coelacanths without a regular goal keeper kept the match goalless till the 30th minute when Karl Toko Ekambi got the first for Cameroon.

Observers have blamed the incident on the unwieldy and slow procedure fans go through to watch matches especially in Yaounde when host Cameroon is playing.

Though insisting that the responsibility is collective, CAF's strongman maintains that security in the stadium is the duty of the LOC. Dr Patrice Motsepe questioned severally why a stadium gate entrance that was to be opened but was closed.

Team Captain Sadio Mané though in pains after a dangerous head clash with Cape Verde shot stopper Josimar Dias, scored the opener for his team at the 63rd minute.

Equatorial Guinea's shotstopper Jesus Owono was the star of the evening as he saved two penalties to move his country and team to the last eight.

Knocked out 3-2 by the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the eighth finals of the last tournament in Egypt 2019, Cameroon though host and 2017 champions didn't come across to anyone as favourites. The Stallions who were third during  the 2017 edition, didn't make it to the land of the pyramids. Cape Verde and Ethiopia with very little AFCON success history helped to move the group from public eye.

Not specific in the release on which of the semi final games will be played there, it is likely that match number 50 between Cameroon vs Egypt will be the fixture. The Confederation authorities say all has been done to ensure safety and security; elements CAF President signaled were very important for his institution.

With their respective wins, Egypt and Senegal completes the semi-final pairings with one between the continent's top title holders and another for those in search for first AFCON glory.
After missing the tournament in the land of Pyramids Egypt 2019 though finishing third in Gabon 2017, the Stallions of Burkina Faso didn't look a promising side for the Semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cameroon 2021.

The 2019 runners-up of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt were undoubtedly no small quantity in the 2021 rendez-vous in Cameroon. With a football world class player like Sadio Mané, it was certainly misplaced wisdom trying to ignore the Teranga Lions.

The video of an unidentified Speaker said to be a Christian Pastor predicting the winner of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cameroon 2021 has gone viral. The man who predicts that an Arab African Country will win the tournament contradicts a witch doctor who had earlier predicted Senegal as winner.

A Senegalese Witch doctor whose name we got as Kahone had predicted the Teranga Lions as winners of the tournament unlike Prophets Stephen Jerubabel who predicted a North African Country amongst others.
