AFCON 2021: Battle for Religious legitimacy hit peak as Senegal heads to final

By Bakah Derick

The video of an unidentified Speaker said to be a Christian Pastor predicting the winner of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Cameroon 2021 has gone viral. The man who predicts that an Arab African Country will win the tournament contradicts a witch doctor who had earlier predicted Senegal as winner. Though others had made predictions, these two have remained relevant as the potential winners according to their positions are still on course as the contest narrows down to three.
The man who predicted an Arab African Country as winner described by some news sites as a prophet and identifying him as a Nigerian  that the Nations Cup will be lifted by an Arab African country. And on the day of the finals, the player that shall fetch the cup for them shall be player number 10. He also said he had seen another player with Jersey number 22.

Commenting about the host nation Cameoon, the prophet said Caneroon will play a match  before the finals but not the finals.
Less than 24hrs to go, Egypt being an Arab African Country and Cameroon are still on course with the potential to confirm or shatter the pastor's  predictions completely since they are to play each other.

Should Egypt beat Cameroon then a major part of his prophecy would have come to fulfilment as Cameroon will play third place on Saturday against Burkina Faso. Should it happen the other way round then the prediction will certaitly be wrong. This is in no small way, putting his religious authority  to test.

Long before the competition started, it was a famous Senegalese traditional doctor identified by the Niderian Punch as Kahone who predicted the winner. According to him, his country Senegal is going to win the trophy. With the Teranga Lions already at the final after eliminating Burkina Faso on the night of Wednesday 2 February 2022, the witch doctor's prediction still remains relevant as he puts his own religion to test.

The doctor who had predicted Nigeria's elimination, said he saw his predictions through a dream.

The Teranga Lions are at the finals waiting for their opponent to be known on Thursday night when host Cameroon takes on seven times champions Egypt.
