Bamenda III Council signs Cooperation Agreement with Chinese Association

The Bamenda III Sub divisional Council of Mezam Division has signed a cooperation agreement with The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a conference in Hong China organized by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) which brought together delegates from local governments and international organizations across the world with the purpose to build modern and eco-friendly cities and share advanced experiences in promoting common prosperity and development for friendship cities.

Meeting under the theme “Sharing Development Opportunities and Deepening Win-Win Cooperation”, Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwie being a development go-getter was quick to engage the association with a fruitful conversation that ended in the win-win cooperation agreement. After signing the agreement Mayor Fongu Cletus returned home to a hero’s welcome by his close collaborators and staff of the Bamenda III Council last Wednesday November 22.

It should be recalled that Councilors of the Bamenda III Council empowered their Mayor to proceed with the signing some MOUs with Chinese Cities during a Council session last Friday April 22.

The MOU signing proposal came at the time the municipality is still celebrating a giant water scheme being a donation from the German city of Trier. While preparing to engage the partnerships Mayor Fongu noted “Bamenda III remains one of the Councils that believe in partnerships in development. And you just cited the example of the water project that we got as a result of partnership via twining with Trier City in Germany; partnership with Chinese Cities will definitely improve on who skills, on our capacity, on our projects and on our development as a whole.”
