THe Easter Light shines in Mbelem

This Sunday April 5, 2015 was extraordinary in the St Augustine Catholic Mission Mbelem-Nkwen as Christian in exceptional fashion joined the entire Church world wide to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As St. John Chrysostom announces in this famous
Easter sermon, all are invited to the feast: "Let all then enter the joy of Our Lord!
Both the first and the last, and those who come after, enjoy your reward! Rich and poor, dance with one another, sober and slothful, celebrate the day................ Amen. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!"
so was it in Mbelem.
The Choir
POLYBUST CHOIR
In a show of renewed faith, The combined student Choir;THE POLYBUST CHOIR made up of Students of National Polytechnic Bamenda, NPB and Bamenda University of Science and Technology, BUST sang with the joy of the resurrection to the amazement of all.
The Message
Rev Fr Romeo Nghemteu Preaching
Rev Fr Romeo Nghemteu member of the Piarist Community of Futru-Nkwen in his Easter Message to the faithfuls expressed the need for all to work together as a christian community. While encouraging everyone to be thankful to God for his many Blessing, Fr Romeo pleaded all to own and read the Bible. To him it is meaning should people spend so much money in buying food and drink which will be forgotten in just a few days as gifts than the word of God which will last for ever. He joked that many #Christians own Bibles but they preserve them so well that even four years later you will still see them as new as it was bought. To Fr Romeo seeing such a Bible means the owner does not read it.
Baptism
The Sacrament of Baptism
Justifying why the Church Baptizes infants Fr Romeo said it is on the conviction of the parents that the children are Baptized. He challenged those who questioned why the Church Baptizes infants on grounds that they should be allowed to grow up and make their decision to also keep their children home to grow up to maybe 16years old before choosing which nursery school they will like to attend.  This was received with some laughter as a good number of faithfuls affirmed to have been challenged on the issue.
CWA dancing during offertory
Some four infants then received Baptism followed by an offertory procession like never seen before in this Church. The entire Church danced exceptionally with diverse styles as the POLYBUST Choir  did the singing. As families thanked God in separate processions, the St Augustine Church used the Easter Sunday celebration to raise funds for the Parish hall project.
During Communion ten young people received the first Holy Communion with a call to be messengers of Christ on his resurrection.
