By Bakah Derick The Chairman of Cameroon’s frontline opposition political party; the Social Democratic Front (SDF) has been buried in his native village Baba II in Santa Subdivision, Mezam Division North West Region. Late Ni John Fru Ndi who died on June 12 with over 33 years at the helm of the SDF was buried on Saturday 29 July 2023 after being raised to the Dignity of the Grand Cordon of the Cameroon Order of Merit.  To decorate the Chairman posthumously as representative of the President of the Republic was the Vice Prime Minister, Jean Kuete.  The decoration was part of an official funeral decreed for Ni John Fru Ndi by longtime political rival President Paul Biya.  The official funeral according to Cameroon legislation is organized and conducted by the government to honor the life and service of  prominent public figures.
