Mayor Fongu Cletus was visibly pleased as he joined hundreds of enthusiastic football fans at the Niboung Government School Field to witness two gripping encounters in the ongoing competition, which has become a unifying platform for communities across the municipality.

“I am deeply grateful to the people of Bamenda III, especially Nkwen, for their presence and the strong show of support for this initiative. This tournament is not just about football, but about community, discipline, and development. Your continued backing strengthens our efforts as a council.” Mayor Fongu stated.

The day’s first fixture saw a dominant performance from the much-admired Junction FC, who secured a well-deserved victory over Tipper Park FC. In the second match, Mbelewa FC faced a narrow 3-2 defeat to a spirited King City FC of Niboung, in what turned out to be one of the most entertaining games of the tournament so far.

Joining the Mayor at the pitch was Muma Azehfor III of Nkwen, who equally lauded the conduct of spectators and fans.

“I appreciate the discipline and sportsmanship shown by the supporters. It reflects the values of peace and respect we strive to uphold in our communities.” Muma said
