IDPWDs 2021: CBC Health Services assures of inclusion in all their facilities

The Cameroon Baptist Convention Health Services (CBCHS) has assured people with disabilities of the inclusive nature of their health facilities. The Director of CBCHS Prof Tih Pius Muffih represented by the Director of Administration and Finance  made the assurance on Friday 3 December 2021 during commemorative activities to mark this year's edition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Bamenda.

According to the Director, the CBC health services for over the years has been intentional about inclusion in her health institutions. 


"As health care providers, we have a major role to play in ensuring the reduction of marginalisation, discrimination, vulnerability and exploitation of Persons with Disabilities, as well as institutional barriers which reduced access to routine healthcare and rehabilitation services. It is our responsibility to promote the inclusion and participation of all persons with disabilities in healthcare service delivery."

Persons with different forms of Disabilities are part of the commemoration which takes place under the theme "Leadership and Participation of Persons with Disabilities towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post Covid-19 world." 

The event provided the Socio economic empowerment of persons with disabilities (SEEPD) program of the CBCHS an opportunity to do combined, free and accessible medical screening and assessment for National disability cards and  need assessment for assistive devices.

The SEEPD programs manager, Awah Jacques Chirac has indicated that the commemoration was also an opportunity for those with disabilities to received health care support in areas that are uncommon to them like eyes, women issues etc. Apart from screen their shall also receive supprt.for medication Chirac explained.
