Paul Biya 39 years in Power: NW women celebrate for recognition, involvement

Women of the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement ((CPDM) have hailed President Paul Biya for recognising and involving them in the running of state affairs. The women made their position public in Bamenda on Saturday 6 November 2021, as the party celebrated 39 years of its National President Paul Biya as President of Cameroon. 
In a message delivered on behalf of the women by Dr Mrs Neba Doh Sirri, the creation of the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and the family to take care for the  needs of women was saluted. Through the Ministry she said, punishing violations of the rights of women and girls is now a reality in Cameroon. The creation of over 200 women empowerment centers across Cameroon which now serves as entrepreneurship training facilities for women was also described as a landmark achievement by President Paul Biya with women as principal beneficiaries. 
Madam Mbah Rose Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of the Supreme State Audit, Senator Regina Mundi, Madam Yaah Judith General Manager of Camtel, Professors Theresia Nkuo Akenji and Uphie Melo Rectors of the Universities of Bamenda and Ngoundere repsectively amongst others all appointed by President Paul Biya to their different functions were presented as undoubted recognition and involvement of North West women by the head of state. 

In a modest request to the President, the women have expressed the wish to be given more opportunities to serve as Administrators especially Divisional Officers, Senior Divisional Officers as well as Governors. 

They stood up as one person to declare their support for their national President and Head of State.  

Events in Bamenda have been chaired by Yang Philemon leader of the CPDM in the and immediate past Prime Minister.
