FECAFOOT Elections: Covering up the mess takes new twist in the North West

Editor's note

Reactions have been pouring into our newsroom following a recent article we published on FECAFOOT Elections. These reactions have come in different forms with all of them either explaining that there were divisional leagues played across the region or not this 2020/2021 football season.

While those who say there are/were divisional leagues argue that they are in possession of match forms and other justifications including sponsorship of matches without subventions from the central administration, those who say the league didn't play argue that they were never part or aware of any divisional league launch. Another school of thought has it that since 2018, no divisional elections took place in the North West and consequently no competitions could be organised there. You all maybe right but only one of the groups will be correct or at least truthful.

We remain however preoccupied by the fact that all other divisional leagues took place across the country except the North West. We ask where they got their subventions from that only North West divisional teams could not get. Who should take responsibility for This? Remember that these arguments are emerging following the recent publication of teams illegible to participate in the FECAFOOT divisional electoral process by the electoral commission. How come no one explained this until when we raised the issues?

After all the arguments we have received I note clearly that

1- hilltopvoices is only interested in the development and proper functioning of football in the North West region reason why we are taking keen interest on the electoral process.

2- we are not targeting anyone with our reporting of FECAFOOT Elections especially in the North West

3- all our articles are written based on the facts at our disposal and no one should target any of our reporters for whatsoever reason as some of the reactions now look like threats to our team members.

We remain resolute to reporting the FECAFOOT Elections especially in the North West region till the very end.

North West Cameroon: Remarkable Cultures I- The Nso People

They own, and with pride, use Lamnso (language of Nso) anywhere they are found. They are from the grassfields of Cameroon, with capital being Kimbo (or today known as Kumbo), the Nso People have a rare structured traditional administrative setup, with the Fon at the summit; then there are the   Vibai, aShufai, aYaa, aFai, aShey, etc.  Yeeh Ngwerong  The very religious people give uncommon value to their traditional beliefs, yet are so attached to Christianity and Islam, the two main religions apart from the traditional practices. Even the most learned of them all would always go back home to identify with their roots, either to pay allegiance to the throne of the tribe, occupied by an "immortal" being, called the Fon; according to the cultural belief, the never dies.    Many would also return home just to be and identify with the people during cultural events.
