Military rifle resurfaces after Nwerong warning over Jakiri Gendarme killing

A military rifle has been discovered in front of the St Kisito Catholic Church in Melim Kumbo Central Sub division in Bui Division of the North West Region. The rifle with wooden design was discovered early Wednesday November 8  morning and was confirmed by Melim based retired soldier to be property of the military. According to a source in Melim the Kumbo company commander was immediately informed and the rifle was later collected by his company.

Though we cannot independently confirm whether the riffle was that seize from a killed Gendarmerie officer in Jakiri Subdivision on Monday November 6, observers are thinking that it could be the rifle particularly coming a day after the dreaded Nso cult better known as Nwerong paid an unusual visit to the Kumbo main market on a market day "Kaavi" to request for the return of the rifle.
With the Nwerong being a feared and respected cult by Nso sons and daughters, many have been quick to conclude that the probability for the seen rifle to be a different one is less than zero since no such rifle has been reported missing. The long distance between the Jakiri incident and Melim is however also putting the submission to doubt as many would have expected the rifle in Jakiri or neighbouring communities like Verkovi where suspects have been arrested.
The Nwerong in the Nso land is known to be a traditional regulator processing alot supernatural powers that dish out courses at will to those found guilty of disrespecting the trading of the people or traditionally constituted authorities.
The cult has been heavily criticised on social media for making the move which is seen to protecting the state more than the people it is traditionally expected to protect but highly placed traditional authorities in Nso rather say the outing of the Nwerong was to protect the people from the circumstances that could emerged in the course of the search for the rifle by the military.
Jakiri is still under siege since the incident of November 6 was recorded with growing fears that it could be transferred To Melim and now that the gun has emerged from there.
