Section President, Che Ndaka Nicolas rallies Nkwen youth behind CPDM to unlock development

As the October presidential election approaches, the Section President of Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM Mezam 1 C, Ndaka Nicolas Che, has issued a clarion call to youth leaders of Nkwen to back the ruling party if they wish to see development in their community.

The call came during a political orientation meeting held on Saturday, 1 August, in Bamenda III Subdivision. Organised by the CPDM Mezam 1 C Section, the gathering brought together administrative, traditional, and political leaders, along with youth representatives from across Nkwen.

Ndaka Che, who doubles as a Regional Councillor, challenged the youth to compare the level of development in other subdivisions of Mezam Division with Nkwen, arguing that their lack of political alignment with the CPDM has left them behind.

“The only way for us to chart the way forward is by using the dynamic of ‘scratch my back, I scratch your own’. Support the CPDM, support the leader of the country, and in return, we will receive meaningful development,” he said.

He warned against political apathy and encouraged unity of purpose ahead of the October 12 presidential poll, urging all Nkwen sons and daughters to vote in favour of the CPDM candidate.

The background to this meeting stems from growing frustration over Nkwen’s lag in infrastructure and political attention, especially compared to other areas of the North West Region. The ruling party sees the upcoming election as a pivotal moment for realignment and progress in the subdivision.

The youth, visibly engaged, pledged to mobilise their peers to heed the call, setting the stage for what may become a more politically active Nkwen in the coming months.
