His Royal Highness Fon Azehfor III, Paramount Ruler of Nkwen, has called on youth leaders to embrace the direction he has taken by supporting the ruling Cameroon People's Democratic Movement, CPDM party as a means of reclaiming development and dignity for their community.
HRH Fon Azehfor III of NkwenThe call was made during a political dialogue and sensitisation meeting convened by the CPDM Mezam 1 C Section in Bamenda III on Saturday, 1 August. The event, aimed at preparing Nkwen youth for the October 2025 presidential election, brought together traditional leaders, administrators, and political figures.
The Fon, an influential figure known for his open allegiance to the CPDM, used the occasion to share his vision for a developed and self-reliant Nkwen, especially in light of the setbacks caused by the ongoing Anglophone crisis.
“Our mission today is to begin many things that can take us forward in terms of development... Follow the path I am taking. Together, we can reverse the effects of this crisis and rebuild our community.”
Beyond politics, the Fon urged the youth to embrace their culture and instil values of identity and responsibility in future generations. He lamented the increasing sale of family lands and the squandering of proceeds on alcohol and wasteful lifestyles, warning that such behaviour discredits the image of the Nkwen people.

The meeting was born out of concern that Nkwen continues to lag behind in state development projects, and that a new political direction is necessary to reposition the community in the eyes of the central government.
The Fon also encouraged youth to engage in vocational and technical training, promising that such skills would make them self-employed and valuable contributors to the economy.
