The Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Artisanal (CCIMA) has elected Waindim Timothy Ntam as Vice President for the Industries, Mines and Public Works Sector. The election took place recently during a high profile event in the nation’s economic capital, Douala, bringing together stakeholders from across Cameroon’s business and industrial landscape. He will be acting as the Vice to the elected President Mr. Tala Kuate, a well-known business magnate in Cameroon who saw in Waindim Timothy a man who can contribute greatly in the development of the sector.
Timothy Waindim's ascension to this strategic position is being hailed as a reaffirmation of his long standing commitment to development and service to the Cameroonian people particularly within the North West Region and the agricultural cooperative sector.
With over 25 years of experience in rural development and cooperative management, Timothy Waindim currently serves as the General Manager of the North West Cooperative Association (NWCA) Ltd, the oldest and largest Arabica coffee cooperative in Cameroon. Under his leadership since 2014, NWCA Ltd has undergone a remarkable transformation, increasing coffee production.
His stewardship has also seen the installation of a state-of-the-art FCFA 200 million coffee transformation and packaging unit, the creation of over 500 jobs for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and the successful launch and expansion of the KOLA Coffee brand into international markets, including the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Widely regarded as a servant-leader, Timothy Waindim’s community engagement extends beyond business. He has been instrumental in supporting education and agriculture in rural areas, facilitating legal support for IDPs, distributing seeds to women’s farming groups, and regularly providing ICT equipment and learning materials to schools in Belo, his Subdivision of origin.
Reacting to his election, Timothy Waindim expressed humility and resolve.
“This is not a personal triumph. It is a call to greater service and an opportunity to contribute to Cameroon’s industrial and infrastructural growth. I look forward to working collaboratively with fellow stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes.” he reacted to Hilltopvoices after election
His robust academic credentials including an Executive MBA from the University of Bamenda and specialised trainings from institutions in Canada and the USA reinforce his technical competence for the position. He has also held influential positions in several national and international bodies, including the Alliance Africa Agriculture Organisation, the North West Development Authority (MIDENO), and the Technical Follow-up Unit for Coffee and Cocoa Sector at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Chamber of Commerce election outcome is seen as a strategic step for Cameroon’s industries and mines sector, with analysts predicting more inclusive and innovative leadership. Supporters of Timothy Waindim believe his practical knowledge, proven results, and passion for sustainable development make him the right man for the job.
Waindim Timothy Ntam continues to embody the values of dedication, transformation, and service which are values that now take on a national dimension with his new mandate at CCIMA.
