Palm Sunday: St Paul Quasi Parish Nkwen Christians challenged to love God more

Christians of St Paul's Quasi Parish Nkwen have been assured of God's unfailing love as they join the Catholic Church worldwide to observe Palm Sunday. Speaking during the early Sunday Holy Mass, Rev Fr Ignatius Waindim explained that Palm Sunday offers Christians an opportunity to "celebrate the love of God who allows his son to move to Jerusalem where he dies for us."

Palm Sunday  which marks the begining of Holy Week he added "reveals love." According to the Priest, the Palm Sumday event is organsied by jesus himself as he makes arrangements for the donkey to use; an indication nothing happened this day by chance.

The procession the Parish Priest noted has a purpose of compassion, sorry and to fulfil God's plan for salvation. He encouraged the Christians never to be afraid and to trust God always despite the challenges of time. 
Palm Sunday, is a day that commences the last week of the season of lent and the first week of Holy Week. Palm Sunday is commemorated across the world as a Christian moveable feast and Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem that also marks the beginning of his passion.

According to the four canonical gospels, Jesus entered the city of Jerusalem on a donkey and the people there welcomed him by spreading the branches and leaves of the palm trees reason why palms are used during Masses on Palm Sunday.
