2022 Football Season: North West football fans find relief in Bamenda pre-season tournament

Thousands of football fans have been streaming into the St Paul Field in Nkwen from last Friday 4 February 2022 following  the opening of the Bamenda pre-season solidarity tournament. The fans only needed space to stand and watch Rangers FC Bafut and Hilltop Strikers battle during the tournament's opener.

"I am here to watch our local players and teams play. I was not fortunate to go and watch AFCON matches but I am happy with the organisers of this tournament who have offered us an opportunity to enjoy our own football. The bad thing is only this dust." Kevin Nsai a football fan notes. 

Acdording to the organisers of the Bamenda pre-season solidarity tournament which has been endorsed by the regional league of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) NW, the intention is to assist Elite teams In the region better prepare for the new season expected to start later this month. 
YOSA ahead of clash with Bafmeng United 
The pre-season football event is bringing togather the two elite one teams in region that is Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) FC and PWD Bamenda. Rangers of Bafut and Foncha Street FC are the Elite Two team joining regional league sides like Hilltop Strikers, Rainbow FC, Bafmeng and Option Sport in the tournament expected to run till February 16, 2022. 
"I am happy with the opening game. You see how difficult it was for Rangers FC an Elite Two team to have a draw with a  regional team Hilltop Strikers. I am very sure that Rangers FC players and technical staff now know that the task ahead is not easy. This will help them to work harder as they prepare for the seaon." Kevin Nsai added. 
Grouped in two pools, the leader of each pool will qualify for the final expected to be played on Wednesday 16 February 2022.

North West Cameroon: Remarkable Cultures I- The Nso People

They own, and with pride, use Lamnso (language of Nso) anywhere they are found. They are from the grassfields of Cameroon, with capital being Kimbo (or today known as Kumbo), the Nso People have a rare structured traditional administrative setup, with the Fon at the summit; then there are the   Vibai, aShufai, aYaa, aFai, aShey, etc.  Yeeh Ngwerong  The very religious people give uncommon value to their traditional beliefs, yet are so attached to Christianity and Islam, the two main religions apart from the traditional practices. Even the most learned of them all would always go back home to identify with their roots, either to pay allegiance to the throne of the tribe, occupied by an "immortal" being, called the Fon; according to the cultural belief, the never dies.    Many would also return home just to be and identify with the people during cultural events. Ngam-Ngonnso’ is the melting pot of Nso culture and traditions. It is a week during which the peoole communinion with
