Sunday 18 July 2021, Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) beats Astre of Douala 0-5 in a group B top tier day-13 fixture in Douala. It is the team's best overall results in their 12years top flight history at every level put together (home, away, against Astre, with Coach Nkabyo etc).
History made
It took Agbor Emmanuel (2), Ngong Neville (1), Ade Mienolf(1) and Franklin Tangiri (1) slightly above 90mins to write a new history line for the Bamenda club. After 22 meetings between the sides, YOSA emerges with the lion's share of wins; two in Douala and six in Bamenda making eight while Astre takes seven (two in Bamenda and five in Douala). Seven of the fixtures have ended in draws.
Current league situation
With 13 Matches played, 15 points accumulated by both sides, YOSA passes infront to spot number six not only for their large goal margin on day-13 but also for their advantageous home and away defeat of Astre of Douala this season.
YOSA enjoys a plus four (+4) goals advantage while the brazilians of Bepanda battle to reduce their minus six (-6) goals difference. With YOSA now totaling 13goals in 12matches played this season giving an average above a goal in every match, Astre of Douala has scored 10 conceding 16 leaving both the defense and attackers at below average.
Surviving relegation this season
With five more days to go and nine points away from group leaders Cotonsport of Garoua, both sides have the ability to finish at the top maybe not top though. For this to happen, they will need to win all remaining games with the hope that the likes of Cotonsport, Panthere, APEJES, Canon stumble a little on their way. YOSA next pairs against APEJES in an all important fixture expected to cause an upset provided YOSA wins. YOSA's position will not change though but they would have succeeded to hold back APEJES who are currently second in the group showing great signs of getting to the top.
