COVID-19 Bamenda: Vaccination campaigns intensified

Health authorities in Bamenda have rolled out a new campaign plan to step up vaccination figures  in the city.

During a press conference in Bamenda on Tuesday 6 July 2021, the Bamenda District Medical officer Dr Nsoh Gilbert said the vaccination campaign which is the second in his area will last five days being 7-11 July 2021.

With an increase in the number of vaccination possibilities including 11 centers, eight mobile teams and three others fixed in strategic locations within the district,  the District officer says the personnel have been cautioned to ensure that the population has sufficient access to the vaccination.

The current vaccination campaign targets COVID-19 negative persons above the age of 18. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are not eligible for vaccination. Despite the armed conflict affecting the area, the health authorities still have as objective to vaccinate at least 70% of the targeted population
