Elite One Championship 2020/2021: Day-8 Notes..

It was another exciting moment for football die harts last Thursday 22 of April, 2021 as they watched their darling clubs perform  across the national territory during day-8 action of the ongoing professional top flight championship.



 

ln pool A, league leaders As fortuna separated on a 1-1draw to bottom place Yafoot who are yet to record their first victory this season. Yafoot suprised many by scoring first due to their poor form so far but failed to defend their goal.

 

Djiko FC that lost at home to visiting PWD of Bamenda (Abakwa Boys) 1- 2 during their previous game hammered Dragon FC in Yde by two nill. Stade Renard are now sitting on a very comfortable seat after beating Union sportive of Douala who have won just a single game since the start of the season. Avion academy of Nkam received the heaviest defeat of the day when they were beaten in their own backyard by stubborn one time elite one champions, Eding sport of the Lekie.

 

 In pool B, the legendary Tonnerre Kalara Club after separating with Canon sportive of Yaounde in the regional derby on a Virgin draw on day-7, recorded another draw with UMS of loum. 

 

Canon of Yaounde now sits on the steering seat thanks to their brilliant performance when they defeated colombe by 3-1. 

 

Panthere sportive of the Nde division now occupies the second position following their 2-2 draw with visiting Apejes of Mfou.They are separated from current pool leaders Canon of Yaounde just by a goal difference.

 

For other pool A matches, PWD of Bamenda  had some bright moments in the west region grabbing 4pts out of 6 when they best Djiko FC  by 1-2 and later a nil-nil tie with Fovu of Baham.

 

ln pool B, League heavy weight Coton sport of Garoua who were supposed to lock horns with Astres(Brazilians of bepanda)had that match postponed as they were involved in continental assignment, a game which they lost to the Algerian team JSK by 1-2.
