After inspecting the prison, the regional administrator concluded that the administrators of the facility were doing well in protecting the prison from the coronavirus pandemic. While appreciating the general cleanliness of the prison, the governor noted that this could not have been possible with the collaboration of the inmates. Governor Lele L'Afrique expressed satisfaction with the inmates for their efforts to prevent the pandemic through the conscious use of face masks. According to North West Regional delegate of Health, no case of COVID-19 has been reported at the Bamenda Central prison three months after the first case was reported in the region.

The governor has attributed this consciousness to the fact that a face masks production unit exist at the prison. He extended words of encouragement to the unit before announcing the support worth FCFA 1M which will enable authorities to better equip themselves against the dreaded virus.

Prison authorities have expressed gratitude to the region's top administrator for the donation.
