Just In: Publishers association honour Edison Fru Ndi as North-West development pillar

Dreamland Connect Chief Executive Officer Edison Fru Ndi has been honoured with the 2026 CENPA Award for his contribution to economic and development initiatives in the crisis-hit North-West Region of Cameroon.

The Cameroon English Language Newspaper Publishers Association presented the award during its awards night in Bonanjo, Douala on Saturday 19 September 2026. Fru Ndi was represented at the ceremony by Dreamland Connect Manager, Mao Pascal.

The award citation described Fru Ndi as a North West Development Pillar, recognising him particularly for his role in the realisation of the Mutan Market in Bamenda. CENPA said the project was helping to create hundreds of jobs for young Cameroonians.

The Mutan Market, constructed by Dreamland Connect for the North West Regional Assembly, comprises 57 sheds, sanitation facilities, a borehole and elevated water tank, a 25KVA solar power system and other supporting infrastructure. The facility is expected to strengthen organised commerce and support the wider development of the Bamenda Industrial Zone.

CENPA President Kristian Ngah Christian said the awards were meant to recognise individuals and institutions whose work was having an impact on society.

“We are here to recognise some Cameroonians and institutions that have been impacting society,” he said.

Edison Fru Ndi’s recognition comes after other recent interventions by Dreamland Connect in the North-West. The company completed the rehabilitation of GBHS Bamenda Campus B under the Presidential Plan for Reconstruction and Development in about half the allocated five-month period.

Dreamland Connect has also supported the recovery of Bamenda Regional Hospital following a fire that destroyed several administrative facilities, equipping a temporary office for the hospital’s General Supervisor.

Edison Fru Ndi, who also serves as Regional Delegate of the Chamber of Commerce for the North-West, was recognised by CENPA against the backdrop of continuing efforts to restore economic activity and infrastructure in the region.
