Tongues wag as Pidgin news presenter is suspended in Bamenda

A popular pidgin broadcaster has been suspended from his duty in Bamenda by the National Communication Council NCC.
McChi (Peter Tebit Chi with Headphones)

The three months suspension not backed by any document Tuesday January 23 saw the President of the NCC lead a delegation to Bamenda to ensure the sanction is effectively enforced and suspend the program which runs on weekdays from 4-5pm and another on Saturday morning on Radio Hot Cocoa.
Peter Tebid Chi popularly called Mac Chi begins his three-month suspension for what the NCC describes as violating the ethics of the profession.
Tongues have been wagging in the City of Bamenda after the implementation of the decision.
In January 2017, the Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam Songa Pierre Rene sealed the doors of Radio Hot Cocoa in the heat of the Anglophone crisis due to the critical nature of its breakfast program BBS.
The radio was later reopened by the NCC but the presenter sacked and the program has been suspended indefintely since then.
On Mac Chi’s Facebook account he writes confirming the suspension “National communication council Boss,Peter Essoka suspend Radio Hotcocoa pidgin news and Mac_chi the presenter for three months.”
