BGFI Holding IPO opens wider investment access to Cameroonians

BGFI Holding is taking its capital-raising drive directly to Cameroonian investors, with a public share offer targeting FCFA 80.558 billion and seeking to raise public ownership of the banking group from 3.85% to 10%.

The operation offers investors 1,006,975 new shares at FCFA 80,000 each. The minimum subscription is 10 shares, requiring FCFA 800,000.

The offer is open to any interested investor, whether or not they are a BGFIBank customer. Subscriptions will remain open until 15 October 2026.

BGFI Holding CEO and General Director Henri-Claude Oyima arrived at Yaoundé International Airport on Sunday, 4 October, ahead of investor meetings in Yaoundé and Douala. He was received by Abakal Mahamat, General Director of BGFIBank Cameroon.

The meetings in Yaoundé on Monday, 5 October, and Douala on Tuesday, 6 October, are intended to give prospective investors direct access to information about the operation and an opportunity to raise questions before subscribing.

For the public, the offer creates an opportunity to acquire an equity stake in BGFI Holding rather than remain only a customer of its banking network. The increase in public ownership would also broaden participation in the Group's capital base.

The FCFA 800,000 minimum subscription provides an entry point for individual investors, while institutional investors can subscribe for larger allocations under the terms of the offer.

The operation forms part of the Group's BGFI 2030 strategy and its plan to strengthen its equity base. For prospective subscribers, the key consideration remains the terms of the share offer, including the potential return, risks and how the new capital will support the Group's expansion.

With subscriptions closing on 15 October, the investor meetings in Yaoundé and Douala are the main opportunity for Cameroonian investors to obtain clarification directly from BGFI Holding before deciding whether to participate.
