Recovery efforts at the Bamenda Regional Hospital have received a further boost after Dreamland Connect equipped a temporary office for the General Supervisor of the hospital's, helping sustain critical administrative operations following the fire that destroyed the institution's main administrative block.
The intervention forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure continuity of services as hospital management and the Ministry of Public Health work to restore facilities damaged by the blaze, which gutted several key administrative departments but left clinical services uninterrupted.
Among the offices affected was that of the General Supervisor, a strategic unit responsible for coordinating the hospital's large paramedical workforce, managing staff records and supervising the training and deployment of student nurses and other healthcare trainees.
In the immediate aftermath of the fire, the General Supervisor was forced to carry out essential duties from hospital corridors and shared offices due to the absence of a dedicated workspace.
Recognising the importance of maintaining the hospital's administrative coordination, Dreamland Connect Chief Executive Officer, Edison Fru Ndi, equipped the temporary office allocated to the General Supervisor, allowing the unit to resume its daily responsibilities under more suitable working conditions while permanent reconstruction continues.

Presenting the support, the CEO said the initiative reflected a shared responsibility to protect public institutions that serve the region.
"This hospital belongs to us. It is our responsibility as elites to take action because we are the primary beneficiaries. Whatever we do, we are doing it for ourselves," he said, calling on other well-meaning individuals to support the hospital's recovery.
The Director of the Bamenda Regional Hospital, Dr Denis Nsame, described the gesture as timely and significant, saying it complements the wider reconstruction effort being coordinated by the Ministry of Public Health.
"Thank you very much, Mr Edison Fru of Dreamland Connect, for coming to support the hospital after this devastating accident," Dr Nsame said.
"By providing an office for our General Supervisor, you have demonstrated that the elites of this region are standing with the hospital as the Ministry of Public Health works towards rebuilding the affected facilities. We are grateful for this spontaneous support."
The General Supervisor also welcomed the donation, explaining that the loss of the office had created major operational challenges at a time when the hospital was receiving new batches of trainee healthcare workers.
"Since the incident on Monday night into Tuesday, it has truly been difficult," he said. "I coordinate all our paramedical staff and the placement of students in the hospital. Tuesday was particularly challenging because students were arriving while we were trying to reorganise our work. This support will greatly strengthen our day-to-day coordination." The donation comes as the Bamenda Regional Hospital continues to recover from the fire that destroyed several essential administrative services, including the Medical Statistics Unit, the central drug store, multimedia facilities and other offices central to the hospital's management.
Government has already dispatched technical teams to assess the damage and prepare for reconstruction, while hospital authorities have implemented contingency measures to ensure patient care continues without interruption.
Hilltopvoices has also noticed contributions ongoing on a messaging platform towards supporting the reconstruction.
Hospital management says support from partners such as Dreamland Connect is helping restore stability to critical administrative functions as longer-term reconstruction efforts gather pace.
Despite the destruction caused by the fire, the hospital has maintained its focus on delivering uninterrupted healthcare services to patients across the North West Region while rebuilding one administrative unit at a time.
