The Bamenda based institution underscores its role in shaping competent, ethical and solution-oriented professionals amid ongoing regional challenges.
National Polytechnic University Institute (NPUI) Bamenda has conferred degrees and certificates on 919 graduates during its 16th convocation ceremony on 16 January 2026, reinforcing its position as a leading centre for technical and professional education in Cameroon.
Graduating students
The ceremony recognised the dedication and endurance of students who completed their studies despite the persistent socio-political challenges in the North West and South West Regions. NPUI’s leadership encouraged graduates to transition from job seekers to innovators and job creators, emphasising the importance of applying acquired skills to practical challenges in the workplace.
Speaking at the event, Dr Aduh Francis Ngala, NPUI Registrar, described the convocation as a landmark occasion.
“Today, we release well-trained and professionally refined graduates into the labour market. Uphold the ethical standards instilled in you, maintain strong professional networks, and represent this institution with integrity,” he stated.
He also highlighted the graduation of NPUI’s third batch of postgraduate students earning Master’s degrees, a notable achievement for a private university operating under challenging circumstances.
The ceremony also celebrated academic excellence, with the Department of Civil Engineering producing the best graduating student, achieving an exceptional GPA of 3.9 out of 4, earning recognition from faculty and attendees alike.
Representing the Governor of the North West Region, the Inspector General at the Governor’s Office, Ignatius Ngale, commended NPUI for its strong focus on professional readiness.

This 16th convocation reaffirms NPUI’s standing as a premier hub for professional and technical education in Cameroon, delivering graduates prepared to meet both local and global workforce demands in line with with the wish of the founder, late Bobe Yong Francis.
