The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) has praised the peaceful and orderly manner in which Cameroonians went to the polls on Sunday, 12 October 2025, to elect the next President of the Republic.

In a release signed by Jean Nkuete, Secretary General of the CPDM Central Committee and National Campaign Coordinator, the party commended the population for demonstrating “maturity and civic responsibility” during the electoral process.

Speaking on behalf of the CPDM candidate, President Paul Biya, Jean Nkuete congratulated citizens for turning out to vote “in peace and dignity,” reaffirming their commitment to democratic values, freedom, and the institutions of the Republic.

He expressed appreciation for the efforts of all stakeholders involved in the conduct of the election including members of the electoral commission, administrative authorities, political actors, and security forces for ensuring transparency and order throughout the process.

The statement also conveyed special thanks to the CPDM campaign teams across the country and abroad for their discipline, professionalism, and loyalty during the campaign and polling period.

The SG further urged Cameroonians to remain calm and vigilant as the vote-counting and proclamation of official results continue. He warned against attempts by “a few ill-intentioned voices” seeking to sow confusion or discord, emphasising that the CPDM remains committed to peace, unity, and national progress.
