SDF mourns Hon. Ali Mumini Yewa in Bamenda as Joshua Osih’s campaign launch looms

Announcing the passing of Hon. Yewa, an alternate Member of Parliament from Ndu in Donga Mantung Division, the Regional Chairperson of the party, Mayor Fongu Cletus Tanwe, disclosed that he had travelled to Nigeria recently for business, where he developed a sudden illness and died shortly after being rushed to hospital.

The meeting observed a moment of silence in his honour, with Mayor Fongu Cletus describing the late Ali Mumini as a devoted militant who gave his time and energy to the party. He regretted that his death came at a time when preparations were intensifying for the upcoming presidential election scheduled for 12 October.

While honouring their fallen comrade, SDF officials also used the session to size up their readiness for the elections and to design campaign strategies adapted to the crisis-affected North West Region.

Though official dates have not been confirmed, unverified reports suggest that the party’s candidate, Hon. Joshua Osih, may launch his campaign in Bamenda. The official campaign period is expected to begin within the week.
