The Rural Women Centre for Education and Development RuWCED Cameroon in a bid to help victims of post abortal complications has offered Manual Vacuum Aspirations (MVA) to some health facilities in the North West Region NWR.

With the manual vacuum Aspirations, unsuccessful especially illegal abortions can be properly finished to avoid cases of rupture and other complications which may even lead to death. According to Barr Fonsoh  who intervened during the donation event, the Cameroonian law says an abortion can be carried out only in any of these two cases where a woman's health is in grave danger and when the pregnancy is as a result of rape. In these situations a medico-legal report must be used as clearance before abortion can be carried out.
