The Cameroon Association of English Speaking
Journalists CAMASEJ NW chapter has signed a memorandum of understanding MoU
with one of Bamenda's biggest lodging facility.
The MoU between CAMASEJ NW and
Blue Pearl hotel was signed Friday June 14 at the close of the monthly meeting
of the association as a way to ease lodging arrangements for visiting
journalists and media professionals to the restive NW region. |

According to the signed MoU, members of the
association nationwide will have the possibility of lodging in the luxurious
home away from home facility at half the cost. According to the president of
CAMASEJ NW, the deal is to permit the
many journalists who are streaming into the region to report on the raging
armed conflict to have a dignified stay. Ambe Macmillian Awa maintained that
after the inspiration came to mind, his office and executive found Blue Pearl
hotel most comfortable for such a deal. The president has clarified that the MoU
will include lodging and other services offered by the hotel except food and
drinks.
The MuO that will last for a period of four
years also requires CAMASEJ members who are the direct beneficiaries to be
ambassadors of Blue Pearl hotel by recommending the facility to others.

Blue Pearl's financial accountant Nathaniel
Aseh who signed the MoU for the management has reaffirmed his institution's
commitment to accompanying journalists and media professionals in the discharge
of their duties especially in challenging times like now. According to
Augustine Halle manager of the hotel, Blue Pearl has been home to the press
even without the MuO. He however maintains that it was important to make
something formal.
Located at S-bend Nkwen, just a few meters
from Funcha Junction in Bamenda III subdivision, the management of Blue Pearl believes
that they stands out in terms of security, provision of hotel services, an up
to date gymnasium, spacious and clean rooms with constant water suply, sufficient
secured parking space.
The accommodation partnership with Blue Pearl
entered by CAMASEJ NW makes it the second MoU is recent times signed by the
journalists association. There is a running MoU with the Bamenda regional hospital
that allows members of the association to pay just 50 percent of their bills
initiated earlier by immediate past leadership of CAMASEJ NW led by Rosaline Akah
Obah. Members of the association have welcome the moves with the promise to due
their part.
