AECO Int, a Cameroon-based company specialised in solar energy solutions, successfully supported a major health campaign organized by Fondation Kounougo (Medical) in partnership with Fundación Recover across five communities in Bui Division: Dzeng, Kitiwum, Kiyan, Romajai, and Melim.
As part of its contribution, AECO provided reliable solar-powered electricity during the medical outreach activities, enabling healthcare workers to operate more effectively in communities where access to stable electricity remains extremely limited. In many rural areas of Cameroon, electricity shortages continue to affect healthcare, education, and basic social services — a situation that has significantly worsened in crisis-affected regions over recent years.
Through the provision of reliable solar-powered electricity, AECO enabled healthcare workers to carry out medical consultations, echography, health education, and community sensitization activities more effectively in remote areas where electricity supply remains a major challenge.
The campaign directly benefited more than one thousand residents, many of whom had limited access to healthcare services. Community leaders, local residents, and healthcare personnel expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a concrete example of how innovation, collaboration, and sustainable energy can transform vulnerable communities.
Ngeh Chrysantus and Tume Emmanuel (L-R)Speaking during the closing meeting the Director of AECO Intl, Mr. Ngeh Chrysantus, thanked all the partners and health workers for their dedication and collaborative spirit., Mr. Tume Emmanuel, Manager, stated: “This project has shown how valuable collaboration can be in improving lives within vulnerable communities. We have witnessed firsthand the human impact that can be achieved when organizations work together.”
The initiative also reflects the ongoing humanitarian commitment of AEHD-USA (Abakwa Educational and Health Drive-USA), a US-based nonprofit organization supporting education and healthcare initiatives in crisis-affected communities in Cameroon since 2016, with AECO International serving as a trusted local technical partner.
