
At the WICCUL Annual General Meeting, held Saturday March 14th in Bamenda,Board President Abanda Alphonse delivered a confident and forward-looking message.
“Three years down the line, we are confident that we are on the right track. The momentum will only continue to build. In no distant time, WICCUL will become a household name in this nation and beyond.” he told the General Assembly.
Founded initially by the Wimbum community as a microfinance initiative, WICCUL has evolved into an inclusive financial institution open to all with a clear and compelling mission of building people and communities.
Revealing that, " this is not just a slogan—it is a call to action" he invited, "Anyone committed to financial resilience, community empowerment, and sustainable growth to join"
Steady Growth That Speaks.
WICCUL has taken shape with a steady growth since creation
The General Manager Sa'ah Dilan, presented impressive statistics that underscore WICCUL’s steady and consistent rise though grappling with infancy.
The micro finance institution kicked off in 2022 with 45 members.In 2026, membership had risen to 345 indicating a steady growth in membership
In terms of resource mobilisation and capital,the union in 2022 galvanized 4.9 million in savings which has steadily witnessed a meteoric rise as of the first quarter of 2026
According to the Manager, loans disbursed to members across various sectors have reached FCFA 78 million, directly impacting businesses, livelihoods, and institutions.
"Each year, WICCUL has exceeded its targets—clear proof of a structure built on trust, discipline, and shared ambition" the Board president sounded.
Real Impact, Real Stories
Even at its early stage, WICCUL has demonstrated remarkable social and economic impact.
According to the Board president,the union has rescued struggling businesses from collapse,, revived an educational institution on the brink and supported members with accessibile business financing.
The union he noted ,is a cooperative that doesn’t just grow number but transforms lives.
Strengthening Leadership, Expanding Reach
To consolidate its governance and operational strength: Mr. Ndze Emmanuel and Mme Jiti Margaret were co-opted into the Supervisory Board.Meanwhile
Mr. Sa’ah Dilan was announced as the General Manager.He was previously the accountant since it's inception.
To boost the expansion of WICCUL, the Bafoussam branch, strategically located at Total D’Embassy, first floor of Hotel de Centre—a vibrant commercial hub was announced to be fully functional.

The AGM witnessed a powerful endorsement from Barrister Yembe Emmanuel, National President of the Wimbum Cultural and Development Association (WICUDA), who pledged full support:
He promised to o Mobilize the Wimbum community nationwide to invest in and grow WICCUL into a financial force.
With strategic networking, intensified financial education, and growing public trust, WICCUL is preparing for a grand national launch in the coming months—marking its presence across towns and cities in Cameroon.
“When next we meet at the AGM,” President Abanda assured, “the story will be even greater.”
