Campaign Pulse 2025: Joshua Osih disciples in Mbengwi, Bamenda vow to deliver victory for SDF Candidate

With less than two weeks to the presidential election, supporters of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) have intensified grassroots mobilisation across the North West Region, promising to stand firm despite challenges and ensure victory for their candidate, Joshua Osih, on 12 October 2025.

In Mbengwi, headquarters of Momo Division, SDF activists began door-to-door campaigning on September 27, immediately after Osih launched his campaign in Bamenda. The exercise is being coordinated by Barrister Calvin Tah Ndangoh, the SDF Divisional Coordinator for Momo, accompanied by the Mbengwi District Chairman, Tah John, alongside other district officials and party members.

Speaking to Cameroon Tribune by phone on Monday  30 September, Barrister Ndangoh explained that the campaign message is rooted in Osih’s manifesto.

“It is a message of hope, security, development, and education. The SDF is the only party that truly understands the situation in the two English-speaking regions of Cameroon. If anyone can resolve this crisis, it must be someone from here. Joshua Osih, as an Anglophone, understands the problems of his people more than any other candidate.” he said

He added that the reception from locals has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The people are fed up with the CPDM government. They recognise that the SDF has always been their choice party. This time, they are determined to muster courage and come out massively to vote for Joshua Osih.” Ndangoh explained

Meanwhile, in Bamenda, the SDF Regional Campaign Manager, Yong Emmanuel, has been leading efforts in neighbourhoods in Nkwen. On 30 September, the team engaged residents carrying out community work in Ntene-Ntene, reminding them that their only tool for change is the ballot.

“We told them to vote and also protect their votes on 12 October,” Yong said.

According to him, locals pledged total support, with one elderly woman affirming that “everyone in Ntene-Ntene is SDF.”

On Tuesday 1 October, the campaign shifted to the Foncha Street weekly market, where women selling foodstuff paused their activities to listen. The team highlighted Osih’s pledges: monthly financial assistance of 60,000 FCFA to vulnerable families, free education to ease the burden on parents, free identity cards within 48 hours, and a federal system of government to allow regions to manage their own development.

“Joshua Osih’s government will ensure equal opportunities, not just for the children of the rich. We will make sure revenues from hospitals in the North West enter the public treasury, not private pockets. And above all, Osih has promised homes with electricity and potable water for all,” Yong Emmanuel declared.
