Campaign Pulse 2025: Cabral Libii marks 1 October with fresh pledges on peace, change, promise women post of PM,

Presidential hopeful Hon. Cabral Libii has issued two strong campaign messages on 1 October, the symbolic date marking Cameroon’s reunification in 1961, calling for national renewal, peace in conflict-hit regions, and the empowerment of women in leadership.

In his first address, the PCRN leader reflected on the painful history of the Anglophone conflict, blaming what he described as the regime’s failures and denial of atrocities, including the 2020 Ngarbuh massacre. He argued that such leaders “must withdraw from the presidential race,” insisting that their track record of dishonour disqualifies them from seeking office.

“If you elect me, the government I will form will sit in the Anglophone regions until peace is fully restored between our brothers on both sides of the Mungo,” Libii declared.

He pledged a new form of community-based federalism to end the conflict and proposed constructing a “Monument of the New Reunification” in memory of independence heroes and victims of war. He also attacked what he called the “filth and decay” of the ruling regime, accusing it of corruption in multiple scandals and urging voters to sweep it away with “the orange wave” on 12 October.

His second message, titled “My Daily Campaign Letter”, was directed specifically to women. Hon. Cabral Libii described women as “the basis of procreation and the cradle of humanity,” calling them the custodians of Cameroon’s identity and the drivers of rupture and progress.

Reaffirming his long-held commitment to gender parity, Hon. Libii promised that if elected, the position of Prime Minister would be entrusted to a woman the day after his swearing-in. He further committed to strict parity in government and across top state institutions.

“The power to mark a glorious page is in your hands. You have the key  which is the orange ballot. Get in and vote,” he urged.

With less than two weeks before polls open, Cabral Libii has sharpened his campaign message around peace, justice, anti-corruption, and women’s leadership, positioning his “orange wave” as a vehicle for sweeping political change.

Hon. Cabral Libii is expected in Bamenda this week
