The Boyo II Belo Section of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) officially launched its campaign for the October 12 presidential election on Thursday, with Section President Waindim Timothy Ntam calling on militants to turn out massively in support of President Paul Biya’s re-election bid.
CPDM militants in Belo during campaign launchAddressing the enthusiastic militants, Waindim described the massive turnout as a “clear manifestation of commitment to our common project of ensuring a resounding victory for President Paul Biya.”
Before his address, a moment of silence was observed in honour of party militants who had passed on, particularly those affected by the prevailing security challenges in the region.
Waindim Timothy hailed President Paul Biya as a “great leader, father of the nation, and a man with almost prophetic insight,” adding that he remains “the only candidate with the proven capacity and experience to lead Cameroon for the next seven years.”
Section President Waindim Timothy addressing militantsHighlighting the President’s over four decades of leadership, Waindim Timothy noted that Biya’s long tenure has brought stability, continuity, and international respect to Cameroon. He cited Cameroon’s strong diplomatic standing, recently reaffirmed through Philemon Yang’s presidency of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, as an indicator to Biya’s statesmanship and global influence.
The section president also pointed to major infrastructure projects such as the Bamenda–Babadjou and Bamenda–Fundong roads as evidence of President Biya’s commitment to development in the North West Region. He lauded the President’s decentralisation policy, which has brought governance closer to local communities and strengthened participation at the grassroots.
Mayor presentation of Belo Council since 2018Turning to the ongoing security situation in the North West and South West regions, Waindim Timothy described Biya as “a crisis manager and a beggar of peace,” commending his call for armed separatists to lay down their weapons and embrace reintegration through the Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) centres.
During Campaign launchLooking ahead, Waindim Timothy said the next seven years under President Biya would guarantee peace, security, democracy, economic growth, improved living standards and social services. He also highlighted priorities such as digital innovation, environmental protection, infrastructure expansion, decentralisation, cultural promotion, and international influence.
He concluded by urging the people of Belo to vote for Biya, stressing that “a vote for President Biya is a vote for a peaceful, united and prosperous Cameroon; for women’s empowerment, youth integration, family protection, and a brighter future for all.”
