The much-anticipated Bamenda III Council Inclusive Royal Tournament 2025 officially roared to life on a chilly and rain-soaked Sunday afternoon in Niboung Nkwen, announcing another season of grassroots football, youthful passion, and cultural celebration in the Bamenda III Municipality.
Deputy Mayor Koti Joseph Tita gives official kick-off
Despite the cold drizzle, the Deputy Mayor of Bamenda III Council, Koti Joseph Tita, set the tone for the event with an impassioned appeal captioned 'if na you' to all stakeholders including players, fans, organisers and traditional authorities, urging commitment and sportsmanship to ensure the success of this year’s tournament.

The opening clash saw defending champions Alahlieh F.C face off against a determined Pro Squad SC of Nibung in a fiery Pool A encounter. With the echoes of last year’s title still fresh, Alahlieh returned with familiar faces, including 2024's top scorer Funwie Leonel, who did not disappoint. He opened the scoring with a clinical finish, before teammate Awahmukalah Bryant added a second to secure a 2-1 victory. Pro Squad’s Mukom Berkam managed a consolation goal, but it was not enough to stop the reigning kings from claiming all three points.
Despite the cold weather, the community turned out in impressive numbers, umbrellas in hand and energy intact, showcasing the tournament’s growing reputation as a fixture of holiday excitement and unity.
