 By Nfor Nkfu.

The Divisional Officer for Nkambe central subdivision Che Lawrence Ngida March 29th stormed Kungi-a village under his jurisdiction, and ordered the arrest of several villagers for colluding with separatist fighters in committing crimes.

Surrounded by heavily armed security operatives, the civil administrator is seen in a viral video unleashing more threats to villagers gathered in front of a Catholic primary school in the area that was burnt on February 9th 2021 allegedly by separatist Ambazonia fighters.

Accusing villagers for collaborating with separatists in committing the February 9th incident, he ordered the arrest of several villagers whom he believed contributed in burning down the Catholic institution. Amongst those arrested were commercial bike riders, illicit fuel vendors and parents whose daughters are either married to or dating separatists.

The act has received public backlash. Many commentators have described it as abuse of power and total overzealousness on the part of the civil administrator.

The D.O has on the hand promised hell to the people of kungi on grounds that no Ambazonia fighter from the area has surrendered to the administration for rehabilitation to honor the call of the head of state.

At the time of this report it was unclear whether those arrested will be charged or not.
